La Chevrerie Resort and Spa: A Captivating Resort in Batangas
8:40 PMLocation: 052, Brgy Ligaya, Anilao, Mabini, Batangas
Batangas has always been a dream destination for a perfect vacation for me. I love the view of Taal, the white sand beaches, the amazing dive spots and the other great things the province of Batangas has to offer. I have been to Tagaytay a number of times because it’s a perfect place to unwind without going to far from Metro Manila but I never crossed that near border to Batangas until now.
Mabini is one of the municipalities of Batangas that I’ve heard a lot of good things about especially that it houses Anilao. Anilao’s surrounding waters are abundant with marine life which makes it popular among divers and snorkelers making it one of Philippines’ top diving spots. With that, there are a lot of beautiful resorts in Mabini and I just know I wouldn’t miss visiting one if I’m in Batangas.
Mabini is just a 2 to 3-hour drive from Metro Manila. It is also accessible for commuters. You can board a bus from Cubao or Pasay to Batangas City Grand Terminal then from there ride a jeepney to Mabini (Php40). Upon reaching Mabini crossing, you can hire a tricycle that will directly take you to your resort (Php60-100).
Visiting Batangas for the first time, I made sure to visit one of the bests. For my Anilao experience, I stumbled upon this new resort that made me more excited to see what the province has to offer.
La Chevrerie Resort and Spa is a five-star property located in the Philippines’ most premium diving spot. The resort offered more than what I was expecting of Anilao. La Chevrerie doesn’t just give you access to a world-class diving spot but also pampers you with excellent service while enjoying the view of nature and sea on your ultimate escape. It is made for a luxurious getaway, providing utmost comfort and relaxation to its guests.
Upon entering the gates of La Chevrerie, you’ll immediately feel the cool breeze and hear the rushing waves inviting you in. It is a very traquil environment. The lobby that will welcome you is already a breathe of fresh air and the welcome drinks will definitely refresh you.
I visited the resort with my boyfriend and it was one of the best places we’ve ever been at. Another great thing the resort offers is exclusivity to its guests. The resort only has 12 Deluxe rooms, 1 Suite and 1 Villa. We stayed in one of their deluxe rooms and it’s the most well interiored resort room I know.
Let me tour you around our deluxe room.
The room is fully-equipped so you don’t have to worry about anything for a relaxing stay. One word to sum up La Chevrerie’s rooms: Impressive. The main reason is mainly because the French owner is in the furniture design industry so the furnitures and interiors are picked carefully and very well. All rooms are also equipped with cable, free WiFi, complete toiletries and a fully stocked fridge and minibar.
My favorite part of our room is the veranda, I called it “My Happy Place” during our stay at the resort.
Who wouldn’t be happy chilling here if the view is this remarkable?
Now, let me tour you around La Chevrerie. Let’s start with the other accommodations available in the resort.
As I’ve said earlier aside from the deluxe rooms, there is 1 Suite and 1 Villa available for bigger groups or families looking to stay in the resort.
The Suite Room is perfect for families or couples wishing to have their own serene space in the resort. It is separated from the main hall where the deluxe rooms are thus offering extra exclusivity.
The room has a lavish bedroom and a separate living and dining room plus a huge bathroom and closet space.
The view on suite room’s balcony is the beautiful shore. Now, I wouldn’t mind enjoying the fresh air and sound of waves here.
The Villa is available for bigger groups, perfect for accommodating workmates looking for a team building venue and even a big family or group of friends who wants to unwind over the weekend. The Villa offers a two-storey accommodation with five beds depending on the number of occupants.
The Villa is the perfect accommodation for a home away from home.
We definitely loved our stay here that it’s one of the best trips I’ve had so far. There are a lot of things to do at La Chevrerie and we made sure to make the most out of it.
What to do at La Chevrerie Resort and Spa:
1. Enjoy Good Food at L’Atelier
L’Atelier is the resort’s bar and restaurant where you can enjoy carefully picked dishes with only the best ingredients from their in-house chefs. Dining here was a nice experience that you can’t miss. We had our amazing lunch, dinner and breakfast here during our stay. I’ve heard not so good reviews about L’Atelier’s food but I personally has no complain.
2. Diving and Snorkeling at Anilao
La Chevrerie is also one of the best resorts in Mabini that houses a dive center that will allow you to experience Anilao’s rich waters full of beautiful marine life. The resort has in-house certified dive instructors and one of the most trusted diving gears, Mares.
We experienced snorkeling and I can say that their instructors are very professional and courteous. They made sure we had a wonderful experience.
3. Pamper Yourself at La Brise
For the ultimate relaxation, you can’t miss to try out La Chevrerie’s La Brise. La Brise offers a selection of massages you can enjoy along with luxurious spa products imported from Europe.
We had their signature Aromatherapy massage and oh was it so relaxing. Their therapists are experts and know exactly how to provide guests with nothing but the best massage.
La Brise is also located right by the waterfront to give guests a great view of the sea and also a calming feel of the sound of waves. I recommend that you never miss this experience. Even some locals and people in near towns visit the resort just to have a relaxing massage after the end of a busy day.
4. Island Hopping and BBQ Lunch
This is my favorite activity that La Chevrerie offers.
Island Hopping and Snorkeling Rate: Php 2,500/pax (2 pax), Php 2,000/pax (3-4 pax), Php 1,400/pax (7-10 pax), including snorkeling gear, boat, island entrance fee, drinks and snacks.
Island Lunch Rate: Php 1,280/person (Seafood BBQ Lunch), Php 980/person (Sandwich and salad), with softdrinks, coffee, tea, fruits
5. Relax in Your Room
After an adventure-filled day in the resort, it is so nice to open our door to be greeted by the calm setting and soft bed. We definitely had a great night sleep.
6. Trekking/Hiking
We missed to experience this during our stay but La Chevrerie offers trekking to make sure they provide their guests access to all sorts of recreational activities. This is a half-day activity and the hill’s peak is a 2-hour trek from the resort. There is also a shortcut option, where guests can be taken to a drop off point where the peak is a 20-minute walk away.
Rate: Free for the 2-hour trek, Php 1,200/person (with round trip shuttle service, 20-minute walk to peak)
7. Play with the Resident Dogs
We are dog lovers so we don’t mind having the resort’s resident dogs around. They are named Boy boy and Dog dog, how cute is that? We actually loved them greeting us and wagging their tails every time we get back to our room, they are very playful and sweet. Though they only stay in their room most of the time especially when there are a lot of guests.
8. Dip in the Pool and Enjoy the view
La Chevrerie’s pool area is very picturesque. I can just stay there the whole day and enjoy the surroundings and I will be fully satisfied. Every inch of the resort is fantastic and I can say, very well-maintained.
The pool is not that big but definitely provides enjoyment for the resort’s guests. It is also enough since La Chevrerie maintains only a number of guests with their limited rooms and there are a lot of other great things to do around. Day tours are also not acceptable as of the moment to maintain the resort’s exclusivity and provide the best service to their guests though you can visit the resort if you only want to dine at L’Atelier or have a massage at La Brise.
The beach front is not white sand as Anilao beach is typically rocky but the view is to beat and you can still walk around the beach area with its clear sea waters.
We had the most amazing time of our lives while at La Chevrerie Resort and Spa.
The resort is superb and their staff are outstanding. They are very well-trained and polite.
The resort also has almost everything you need so you don’t have to go out while you’re here and just enjoy and relax and let La Chevrerie captivate you. An overnight stay is great and it already satisfied us but I would prefer to stay longer as this place is so hard to leave. I still daydream of our experience here until now.
I definitely recommend this resort for those who are looking to fully experience the best of what Anilao has to offer without minding to spend as you’ll definitely get your money’s worth and even more.
Buy experiences and great memories that you will treasure forever.
